I am thinking of starting another podcast.
Most of the shows will be 15 > minutes as I really, really, really hate audio editing and cannot afford a dedicated editor for a weekly, seasonal show.
I am also not sure if I’ll hop on the S01E01 bandwagon or not. Seems it is all the rage in the podcast community but I am not certain it works for developer podcasts though one of my favorites works that way.
On Developer on Fire
I recorded an episode of Developer of Fire. It will be out sometime at the end of the month or beginning of next year.
Not much to talk about today! But you can find relevant links to what I talked about here.

This week: What I’ve been doing this week (killing code, that’s what), women and minorities in tech and the fact that maybe there just isn’t any real interest in this in these demographics, and great news for this podcast and blog.
Women in Tech? Here are some articles on the topic.

Code & Supply is an AWESOME resource for Pittsburgh developers.
You can find out more about C&S here
No external links today. I thought about talking about functional programming and I did, but cut it– I only had a shallow understanding of it and didn’t prepare to talk about it by writing or outlining the points I wanted to make– a fatal flaw for a good recording. I’ll talk about it later, after I’ve prepped better.
I want to get John Sonmez and the show. You can find out more about him here and find the book I’m reading by John called Soft Skills: The software developer’s life manual here
Code Newbies has an awesome to-do app we\’re working on. You can find the repository on GitHub

An interesting take (by interesting I mean a strong opinion laced with profanity but I enjoyed the conjecture) on TDD and why it doesn’t work.

Are you getting outside?? GET OUTSIDE!! It’s summertime! Go for a stroll, go to the gym, go biking or running but get out. Here is a song I love to listen to in the summer, when it is warm and there is a cool wind blowing:
In this episode I interview Mark Pearyer, father, student, developer and Code Newbie veteran. He shares his insights on coding, balance, and the hustle.
